Seawall Repair FAQ
Are you a seawall contractor?
No. Palm Beach County Seawall is an independent referral service. We pass your request to independent, licensed local marine contractors, who give their own quotes. We don't perform construction work.
Is it free?
Yes. Submitting a request costs nothing, and you aren't obligated to hire anyone.
Do I need a permit to repair my seawall?
Usually, yes. In unincorporated Palm Beach County, seawalls are permitted as marine structures and need engineered drawings plus any required environmental approvals. Cities have their own building departments. Some restorations can be exempt from state environmental permits under Florida Statutes §403.813, but local permits still apply.
Who is allowed to do seawall work?
In Palm Beach County, marine contractors are the regulated trade qualified to build, maintain and repair seawalls, bulkheads and docks. Always verify a contractor's license and insurance before you sign.
How much does seawall repair cost?
National estimates from HomeGuide are roughly $100–$250 per linear foot for repairs and $150–$600 per linear foot for replacement. Local quotes vary with access, wall height, materials and condition. See our cost guide.
How do I know if my seawall is failing?
Watch for leaning, a cap that's cracked or out of line, open joints, rust stains, and holes or sinking ground behind the wall.
Can I send photos?
Yes. The request form accepts optional photos, which help contractors give a better first assessment.
